An index of leading economic indicators fell 0.2% in June, the second drop in three months, the New York-based Conference Board said Thursday.
The LEI index’s decline followed a revised 0.5% gain in May that had originally been reported as a 0.4% upturn.
The LEI is closely watched by trucking companies because it forecasts business activity for the next three to six months.
